We are building the future of aviation together!
Widerøe Zero’s Air Mobility Lab is an innovation arena for the development of smart air mobility, where travellers and people in Norwegian regions are invited to collaborate on the design and implementation of zero-emission aviation.
The development and introduction of new air mobility will change the way people experience their journeys. With the phased introduction of zero-emission aircraft or emission-free eVTOL flights in the coming years, Widerøe Zero aims to enhance the focus on customer experience. In parallel with improving digital experiences and mobile applications, the future of aviation will provide people with new opportunities to organize and optimize their daily travel.
What?
A Living Laboratory for shaping the future of air mobility and a collaborative arena where users from various regions are invited to explore solutions for operating green and smart air mobility.
Why?
With the introduction of zero-emission aircraft and all-electric eVTOL flights, we are on the verge of a fundamental revolution in regional aviation. Alongside new digital solutions, the future of regional aviation will evolve towards greater flexibility and individually tailored travel patterns. Grounded in modern innovation methods, Widerøe Zero engages with communities and invites to an open dialogue through the Air Mobility Lab.
How?
Widerøe Zero is establishing Air Mobility Labs in four Norwegian partner regions to explore the future of aviation. The partner regions are Varanger, Lofoten, the Helgeland region, and the Stavanger-Bergen region. In collaboration with local ambassadors, Widerøe Zero conducts in-depth studies to develop new knowledge about zero-emission air mobility. Our Air Mobility Labs will be operational from the fall of 2023 and will continue until spring 2025. During this period, we will establish both physical and digital laboratories across all regions. We use living-lab methodology to engage with local communities on real air mobility needs and we use state-of-the-art tools that allow participants to experience the future of air mobility.
“In our Air Mobility Lab, we are developing the future of air mobility together with the people in our partner regions. We are using modern innovation methodology to address the transformation in Norwegian aviation. Through our regional innovation labs, we aim to be at the forefront of developing smart air mobility that ground in real-life mobility needs. Following our living-lab approach, we start with the concrete needs of people and establish customer-driven innovation for the future of aviation in the Nordics.”
